Adventure Programs
Rotary Clubs across Canada host and sponsor a variety of Adventure programs for youth, our leaders of tomorrow. These short term programs offer great opportunity for the Adventurers to explore their field of interest and also to experience Rotarians' hospitality.

Adventure in Understanding
The “Adventure in Understanding” program is an annual six day ( five night) cultural canoe experience for young First Nation and non-native youth ages sixteen to eighteen years old. It is a co-ed canoe voyage along the Trent Severn Waterway from the Canadian Canoe Museum waterfront in Peterborough to Curve Lake First Nation.
The program was developed by the Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha with the assistance of the Curve Lake First Nation Youth Committee and is offered with the co-operation of Camp Kawartha and the Canadian Canoe Museum.

Adventure in the Environment
Adventure in the Environment is a four-day adventure in environmental science and field biology sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise. With a maximum of 8 students in the program, the participants have the unique opportunity of working with the scientists of the St Lawrence River Institute for Environmental Sciences in Cornwall, Ontario. Activities may include fish identification and measurement, a visit to an old-growth forest, turtle identification, a study of invertebrates at Cooper Marsh, a session at the eel ladder at the Hydro Ontario Moses Saunders Dam, and a visit to the Laflѐche bat caves north of Gatineau.

Adventure in Citizenship
For over 70 years the Rotary Club of Ottawa in partnership with Rotary Clubs across the nation have invited young leaders of high school age to come to Ottawa for the Adventure in Citizenship Program. Students come from all provinces and territories.
The program is designed to help senior high school students gain a deeper understanding about the privileges and responsibilities of Canadian citizenship. Over 100 participants from across Canada learn about leadership and how Canadian institutions operate through site visits and through meetings with current and past political leaders and senior government officials. They return better able to explore their aptitudes, values and career path preferences following graduation understanding how to better be engaged citizens and community leaders. Participants have fun and network with others through social events and an evening of French-Canadian cuisine, culture, and dance.
